While a Certified Pre-Owned Mercedes-Benz vehicle is pre-owned, we put each of them through a meticulous inspection to ensure that they are still in like-new condition. We’re outlining our extensive inspection process at Mercedes-Benz of Asheville.

Certification Standards

Before we even begin the inspection process, each vehicle must meet our exacting standards. They must be less than six years old and have less than 75,000 miles on the odometer. We also ensure they don’t have any identifiable structural damage or have any issues or spotty service history listed on their CARFAX® vehicle history report.

Meticulous Inspection Process

If the vehicle meets our preliminary standards, we set to work making sure it’s a vehicle that we’re willing to back. We perform routine tests including a Dynamic Compression test, a Battery Condition/Midtronics test, and more. Then, our trained technicians carefully inspect each component of the vehicle, inside and out.

During the 165-point inspection, these are a few of the components we review:

  • Exterior structure and appearance
  • Electrical system
  • Engine components and system
  • Transmission
  • Fluid levels
  • Spark plugs
  • Air cleaner/filter
  • Cabin features (heated and ventilated seats, seat adjustments, seat belts, etc.)
  • Wheel alignment

Road-Tested Quality

After we complete our inspection, our trained technicians also take each vehicle for a test drive. We look for everything from unusual noises to heavy vibrations to overall ride quality. We make sure that each vehicle has the premium power that a Mercedes-Benz vehicle should have, and that you can stop all that power on a dime too.
